Update for New York City Marathon 2010 Route

The New York City Marathon 2010 will be held on Sunday and it is expected to be the largest marathon in the world with estimated 44,000 finishers in 2009. It also aims to raise funds for charitable institutions.

Now, New Yorkers and fanatics of the NYC Marathon are preparing for the route and schedule of the event, as well as, spectators and vehicle drivers who will be affected by the traffic.

NYC Marathon Route
The New York City Marathon 2010 route will be closed to traffic. It will start at Veerazano-Narrows Bridge. The runners will cross five bridges as it winds through Brooklyn then pass Queens and ultimately cross Manhattan and Bronx before going back to Manhattan with the finish line at Central Park, marking 26.2 miles.

Last year, elite runner Keflezighi won with his time, 2:09:15 while Ethiopia's Derartu Tulu won with 2:28:52 in the women's division. First place winners win $130,000 for first time winners and $200,00 for repeat winners. For second and third places, they each receive $65,000 and $40,000.

(Media-Newswire.com) - The undefeated Zenyatta ran her last race at the 2010 Breeders Cup and almost made the record of twenty races without a loss. Coming from the last spot, Zenyatta almost won the last race but came up second.

China Hits by 7.1 Earthquake

On Wednesday 14th April 2010, A 7.1 magnitude in Qinghai province located in the northwest China.

It has been reported by authorities that more than 67 people have been reportedly killed and many injured in an earthquake in China.The quake struck the Yushu prefecture at 7.49 a.m. at a depth of about 33 km, the China Earthquake Networks Center reported.

Cooking Popcorn Using Cellphones

This is the most ridiculous thing I really heard of and ever watched. There are people claim that you can cook popcorn using cellphone radiation. For me that kind of situation is really busted.

Cellphone radiation and the concept of microwave oven are totally different. With that of cellphones, radiation frequency that it emits is not really capable to excite water molecules in order for a certain food to be cooked. Besides, the low power it gives off is totally not as high compare to microwave ovens. Cellphone radiation frequency is much lower compare to microwave ovens. In fact, the frequency where the microwave ovens operate is the only frequency that can only excite water molecules and is specialized in cooking or heating up.

Just imagine if cellphone radiation can really cook, when you receive calls and your cellphone was in your pocket and it rings for long period, your skin should be cooked by that time. But it's not, right?

Human Blood Gives Light at Night

This sounds cool that a bloody night would make your dark night a bright night. It may sounds ridiculous but it's true for Mike Thompson, an English Designer based in The Netherlands, invented this lamp that runs by a human blood.

I can't really imagine that if you like to light up your night, then you really have to cut yourself to bleed and make your blood acts like a night lamp. Would you reluctantly think of cutting yourself to bleed just for a light? That's really a big wow for me.

Thompson came up with this gruesome idea when he was studying his masters in Design Academy Eindhoven in Netherlands. He came to research with chemicals and found his way to luminol. This is the chemical used by forensic scientist to check traces of blood at the crime scene.

On the picture, Thompson made a special glass to act like a light bulb. To use it, you have to mix first the activating powder and break the upper portion of the glass to cut yourself to bleed. upon bleeding, you have to drip your blood into the opening. I don't know how long it can be used but don't waste it because it can be used only once.

Maybe, Mike Thompson just want to emphasize that energy consumption is not just taken for granted. For every consumption we make, there is an energy being consumed that we might not retrieve back for it is limited. It's all about energy conservation. Who would think that he will use up all his blood just to waste energy for something that just not worth something. So, when it is not needed, better to conserve energy. Cyclone, Hurricane, and Typhoon are Different

We know that cyclone, hurricane, and typhoon are all just the same. And I thought of that, too, before. But not in our awareness, these three things are definitely different from each other though they share common thing as a storm, indeed.

Deciphering the differences between the three storms will lead to the fact from where they are being formed. In other words, their origin and location. Hurricane forms in Atlantic or Eastern Pacific. So apparently, the storms that threaten the United States of America are all hurricane. On the other hand, typhoon typically forms at Western Pacific and endangers most countries like Japan, Philippines, Island of Guam, etc. While cyclone forms at some location within Southern Pacific.

They say that typhoon is stronger than hurricane but cyclone is not as prevalent as hurricane. But whatever they are, the three are dangerous storms. One thing we don't know about the storms is that, a storm that begins at the upper part of the equator rotates clockwise and storm that begins at the lower part of the equator rotates counterclockwise. Don't ask if a storm can cross over the equator and it will change direction of rotation because as of now, it never happens and air currents won't permit storms to crossover the equator.

Now we know the differences among cyclones, hurricane, and typhoon.

"But what makes these ants to be a zombie. It's all because of a fungus. This fungus makes the ant a walking dead. Once ants get infected, the fungus will take over the brain of the ants and controls everything. The fungus makes the ants to climb down from their nest up in the tree. What is amazing about the fungus was that it controls the ants to clamp down with his mandibles to the low leaves. The infected ants already had fungus growing within their body and after dying, the fungus will spontaneously grows until it willl breakout from the body of the ant. It will take a week or two to breakout. From the breaking, the spores of fungus is now free to fall. That's how fungus meant to spread through out the forest and infect another ants again."

Carbon Scrubber to Save the Earth from Global Warming

"Carbon scrubber? What is this? If you take the literal meaning, it means a tool use to scrub carbon. Still confused? Well, don't take it literally because it's not as what it is. Why would you scrub carbon for what? If you wanna know the answer, just keep in reading then."

Carbon scrubber is a new way to clean air. This means that carbon scrubber will help reduce carbon dioxide content in the air by filtration process. This will extract the carbon dioxide and separate it from the air making the air to be reduced of excess portion of CO2. This is existing now and used at home. But how will it help to lessen the Global warming if it will just accomodate only as large as home place. Well, this is the scientists and physicists are pursuing on how will it be designed to efficiently say it will help fight the global warming.

"Actually, scientists are already in the process to build a prototype of carbon scrubber. As featured in "Project Earth", a TV program aired by Discovery Channel and I watched it, they had built the prototype already and performed experiments to test if it was successfully attained the goal. And the result, a success one. Here is the photo of the said prototype."

"But how this prototype works? As you can see, the horizontal tube which happens to be the fan will be the one to suck up air inside the prototype. Once the air is captured inside, the air will be sprayed with sodium hydroxide solution which will be responsible for capturing the CO2. Once sprayed, air will passed another filtration in the honeycomb padding and then the cleaned air will go its way out in the opening at the top of the tower. The carbon dioxide that was captured will be frozen and disposed of properly. This experiment was a success one with the used of new technology. They have used carbon dioxide detector and was interpreted by computer how the content of CO2 in air was reduced when it passed the prototype. The testing process lasted for almost a day long and no failure was recorded."

Inadequate solar power means a zero chance for life to continue. But it's not shrinking because...(read the next paragraph)"

If it will going to happen then our scientist is making a move about it if we can stop such catastrophe or else it ends everything."
